Kalapani surely belongs to Nepal

Mahesh Chandra Regmi

Posted by:  Buddhi Narayan Shrestha

Noted intellectual, archivist, historian, researcher, author and writer Mahesh Chandra Regmi had written on 18 August 1998 that ‘Kalapani belongs to Nepal. It must be within the territory of Nepal.’ He died on 10 July 2003. This manuscript copy was not published during his life time. But his son Shirish Chandra Regmi found this manuscript recently and it is now published in Nagarik Daily on 30 December 2017. According to this historical proof (document), there is no doubt that Kapapani belongs to Nepal. Unfortunately, this whole area (Lipulek-Kalapani-Limpiyadhura) has been encroached by India, just after the end of India-China border war during October-November 1962. According to such proofs and historical maps located in the Library of Congress, Washington DC, British Museum Library London, Archives of Bureau of Surveying and Mapping of China, Bejing; Nepal should plead pursue to return back  this area to Nepal.
